Introduction to Copper in Pirate Gaming

In the world of pirate gaming with ship-building dynamics, metals like Copper play a crucial role. In the initial stages of the game, there is a significant need for Iron, but as the game progresses, Bronze becomes essential. This is due to its use in crafting recipes primarily derived from copper. Therefore, understanding how and where to mine copper is a vital skill.

Early in the game, establishing yourself necessitates collecting a large amount of Bronze Ingots created from Copper. These ingots are vital for numerous crafting recipes that become available as you develop your pirate identity.

Locating Copper for Mining

Knowing the specific locations where you can find copper is crucial to streamlining this process. There are various locales across the East Indies where Copper can be mined, with the optimal spot being just south of the Sacred Tree outpost. The Sacred Tree is nestled along a narrow canal close to Hova Hill, west of Sainte-Anne. Following the canal southwards from the outpost leads to a trading settlement and some guard towers. Around these towers, several Copper ore veins are found along the shoreline. One is situated on the right side of the towers, while another rests on a small island in between them. Proper navigation and recognition of these spots, often indicated by shiny rocks, can aid in efficient Copper mining.

Process of Mining Copper

Mining Copper requires a Pickaxe I, crafted at the Carpenter's shop in Sainte-Anne using two Torn Sails and one Broken Plank. With the Pickaxe, players can approach a Copper ore vein and initiate the "Harvest" by pressing the corresponding button on the screen. An option for "Auto-Harvest" in the settings simplifies this by bypassing the mini-game, though it yields fewer resources. For those desiring an authentic experience, manual harvesting remains an option.

Further Steps: Conversion of Copper to Bronze Ingots

After harvesting, check surrounding areas for additional veins. Should there be none nearby, returning to Sainte-Anne to process Copper Ore into Bronze Ingots at the Refinery is the next step. The Refinery converts Copper Ore into Bronze Ingots for a minimal fee, with a ratio of three Copper Ore to one Bronze Ingot. Finished ingots can then be collected from the "Finished Goods" tab in the Refinery menu.

Strategic Use of Copper and Bronze Ingots in Game

Accumulating enough Copper and Bronze Ingots is crucial for crafting new ships and blueprints. It is advisable to make multiple trips to the ore veins south of the Sacred Tree to ensure ample supply. This strategic gathering will help drive successful shipbuilding endeavors throughout your piratical ventures.
