Since being launched in April, Stellar Blade has had a strong beginning, garnering positive feedback from both critics and the public and revenues reflecting its success, surpassing a million units in sales. In response to this success, Developer Shift Up plans to keep the momentum going by introducing new content over the next few months.
During Shift Up's recent IPO press conference, the developer outlined tentative plans for future updates for Stellar Blade. This was relayed via Twitter by @Genki_JPN. A Photo Mode will be rolled out for the game in August, and a new skin will follow in October. Shift Up also mentioned they are considering a large-scale paid DLC that'll involve collaboration with other intellectual properties by December. Additionally, more DLCs and even a sequel are possibilities that the studio is mulling over for the future.
Before the game's release, Shift Up announced that they'd launch free updates such as a 'boss rush' mode (which they released last month) and potential IP collaboration DLCs as paid enhancements. Post-release, the studio expressed interest in exploring the development of a PC port, more DLC, and possibly a sequel.
Stellar Blade is currently obtainable on PS5.
