Nintendo maintains a tradition of concealing the identities of the studios involved in creating its video games till their official release. Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD also followed this protocol until its recent endorsement. In anticipation of its launch in the upcoming days, information about the origin of its development has surfaced.
As publicly stated by VGC, the Australian game development house Tantalus Media was the creator of Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. Celebrated for producing superb ports and remasters for Nintendo, including acclaimed versions of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD for Wii U and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD for the Nintendo Switch, they have once again joined forces with Nintendo for this venture.
However, this suggests that Next Level Games, the original developer of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for 3DS, is not involved in the Switch remaster for the game. Looming queries about their current project come to the fore. Could the studio possibly work on Luigi’s Mansion 4? Only time will tell.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD will be available for Nintendo Switch from June 27.
